Singapore first participated in the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) in 2009 when it was hosted in Tianjin, China. The Singapore team has been performing very well at this annual competition,  emerging as champions at the following editions: 23rd (Vienna, 2010),  26th (Taipei, 2013), 27th (Shrewbury, United Kingdom, 2014), 28th (Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, 2015), 29th (Ekaterinburg, Russia, 2016), 30th (Singapore, 2017) , 31st (Beijing, 2018) and 32nd (Warsaw, 2019).

At the recently concluded IYPT in Warsaw, Poland, the Singapore team emerged victorious once again! Congratulations Team Singapore!

The Singapore team comprised Samuel Foo Enze (team captain), Matthew Yar Kwok Jay, Wen Qinghao and Tan Wei Han, Max from Raffles Institution and Tan Jun Wei from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science.  The team was led by Dr Koh Teck Seng from the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, A/Prof Paul Lee Choon Keat from National Institute of Education, Mr Sze Guan Kheng from Raffles Institution, Ms Nur Zuhailah Hanafi from MOE and coached by Mr Zhang Yansheng and Mr Lim Jun Heng.

2018 IYPT Champion

The Singapore team comprised Fu Xinghong (team captain), Hu Yongao, Liu Haixuan and Jerry Han from Raffles Institution and Russell Yang from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science.  The team was led by Dr Koh Teck Seng from the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Mrs Lim Siew Eng from Raffles Institution, Mr Chan Khai Mun from MOE and coaches Ms Wang Huaijin and Mr Li Bingjian.

2017 IYPT Champion

The Singapore team comprised Lendermann Markus Paul Zhi-Guang (team captain) and Li Kang Chen from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science and Wang Huaijin, Fu Xinghong and Rachel Qing Pang from Raffles Institution.  The team was led by Dr Koh Teck Seng from the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Mr Sze Guan Kheng from Raffles Institution, Mr Joel Tan Shi Quan, Mr Lim Yong Hui and Mr Jee Kai Yen, coaches and ex-IYPT participants.

IYPT 2016 Overall Champion

The Singapore team comprised Wittman Goh (team captain), Lim Jun Heng and Muzammil Arif Din S/O Abdul Jabbar from Raffles Institution and Lendermann Markus Paul Zhi-Guang and Li Kang Chen from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science. The team was led by Dr Yeo Ye and Dr Nidhi Sharma from Department of Physics, NUS, Mrs Lim Siew Eng from Raffles Institution, Mr Leong Tze Kwang from MOE and coaches Mr Darryl Pay and Mr Daniel Mark.

IYPT 2015 Overall Champion

The team comprised Koh Jin Ming from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, as well as Shen Yu Jun, Lee Yu Tse, Wittmann Goh Ghin Fong and Lim Jun Heng from Raffles Institution.

The team was led by Dr Yeo Ye from the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore, Mr Sze Guan Kheng from Raffles Institution, Ms Tan Joy from the Ministry of Education and Mr Huan Yan Qi, coach and ex-IYPT participant.
